My Therapy Practice

I have a particular interest in working with overthinkers, neurodivergent clients, relationships, anxiety and depression, offering a supportive space to better understand your experiences and develop ways of navigating the world that feel more manageable.

I aim to offer a space that feels warm, supportive, and grounded in genuine human connection. I value being approachable, accountable and reliable, and I bring both my professional training and personal life experience, which I hope will inform my work and make it more helpful.

Life can feel overwhelming at times—especially when we find ourselves overthinking, holding things in, or feeling unsure how to move forward. You may be reflecting on the past, trying to understand the present, or questioning what comes next. At times, this can lead to feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of what you need.

Counselling offers a space to pause and explore your experiences in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. Together, we can reflect on your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, fears, losses, and negative patterns, helping you to make sense of your experiences and move towards meaningful change.

My role is to support you in developing self-awareness, building resilience, and finding a way forward that feels right for you.

I work in an integrative and flexible way, adapting my approach to meet your individual needs. What works for one person may not work for another, so I will find a way of working that feels supportive and effective for you.

At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship. I place strong emphasis on empathy, trust, respect, and genuineness, creating a space where you feel heard, understood, and able to explore openly.

I aim to understand your unique experiences—your relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you—and to support you in exploring the challenges you may be facing at your own pace.

Much of my work is grounded in deep listening—hearing not only your words, but the feelings behind them. My experience is that when someone feels truly heard, meaningful therapeutic change can begin.

I welcome and respect the diversity of each person’s background, values, and beliefs, and I aim to offer a space that is inclusive and responsive to your individual identity and experience.

As a registered member of the BACP, I work in line with their ethical framework and attend regular supervision to support safe and effective practice.

Your first session

I understand that choosing a counsellor can feel like a big step. Building a sense of connection and trust is central to the work we will do together.

Research shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful outcomes. Feeling heard, understood, and safe enough to speak openly is key.

If you decide to go ahead, we will usually begin with 60-minute weekly sessions. We will review your goals as we go, and you are free to continue for as long as it feels helpful.

Some people prefer short-term work, while others choose longer-term support. We can also adjust the frequency of sessions to suit your needs over time.

You are under no obligation to continue and can end counselling at any point.

Types of Therapy:

Integrative, Person-centered, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Walk and Talk Therapy

My First Session

I want to learn about you. I appreciate choosing the right counsellor to explore and express difficult thoughts and feelings may feel daunting.

At the heart of my counselling approach is my core belief that establishing a connection with your counsellor is essential.

Research indicates that the most significant factor influencing the success of your treatment is your relationship with your counsellor. The feeling of being genuinely 'heard and understood' and, equally important, building trust with your counsellor so you can speak openly is at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.

During our first session, we will discuss what brought you into counselling and what you would like to aim and achieve. We will establish if I am the right counsellor for you and whether I feel I can help you.

Your aims will be reviewed as the counselling sessions progress to determine whether the counselling is working for you.

If you decide to proceed, we will schedule a 60-minute counselling session. I am willing to work with you for as few or as many sessions as we agree are appropriate. We can discuss and adjust the frequency to better suit your needs. Some clients choose to meet every week, while others might prefer to reduce the frequency of the counselling as they progress to the end.

You are under no obligation and can end the counselling at any time as it is really what feels right for you.
